Jones International University is a pioneer in online learning. Founder and Chancellor Glenn R. Jones devoted much of his life to acting on his belief that education should be available to everyone.
In 1987, Jones launched the groundbreaking cable television network Mind Extension University™ (ME/U™), which enabled 30,000 students to take a course from more than 30 colleges and universities via television. In the nascence of the Internet, Jones foresaw the potential and started JIU in Centennial, Colorado in 1993 -- the first university anywhere to exist entirely online.
in 1999, JIU became the first fully online university in the U.S. to be accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
JIU continues to set the standard in online degree programs. The School of Business offers more than 20 Bachelor's, Master's and certificate programs in Business Administration and Business Communications. The School of Education offers 12 Master's degree programs in a variety of disciplines.
JUI maintains a tradition of providing students with the quality instruction, resources and support to enable them to graduate with the practical skills, strategies and confidence to become consummate professionals.
